The AC2E Honors 6th Grade Math program provides a strong foundation for secondary mathematics education. Areas of focus will be Algebra, Geometry, Numbers/Operations and Data Analysis. Concepts, procedures, and vocabulary that students will need in order to be successful in upper-level algebra and geometry courses will be taught and are practiced throughout the year. The course begins with a general review, then moves on to introduce topics such as exponents, geometric formulas, algebraic concepts, ratios, and percentages. Throughout the course, students work extensively with fractions and decimals, as well as different problem solving strategies.
