Week of October 28-November 1, 2013

We are having a spooktacular week here at Ac2E M.S.

Honors Math - We began this week creating origami cubes, as we learn to calculate the volume of 3D shapes, such as cubes and rectangular prisms, then we moved on to learn all about circles. Our Falcons did an amazing job learning the relationship between the diameter, radius, circumference and area of circles.

SAT Math- We reviewed how to multiply fractions and mixed numbers and we are currently learning how to divide fractions, whole numbers and mixed numbers.

Week of October 21-25, 2013

Honors Math-We continued our lesson on area of 2D shapes and took the 2nd Six Weeks Midterm

SAT Math-We continued on the addition and subtraction of fractions with similar and different denominators and took the 2nd Six Weeks Midterm.

Wednesday - Wear Red
Thursday- "Sock it up to Drugs" crazy socks!
Friday- "Team up against Drugs" wear your favorite team's jersey

And to end a busy week we had a special visit from the Grulla Gators, which our Falcons really enjoyed! Go Gators!

Week of October 14-18, 2013

Honors Math- Angles, Triangles and Quadrilaterals

SAT- Introduction to addition and subtraction of fractions.

Fractions and Skittles!!! Students separated all the skittles by colors, and figured out how many fractions you can find in a Fun Size bag of skittles.

Week of October 7-11, 2013

It's a new beginning! The 2nd Six Weeks are already here! It's a new opportunity to earn good grades and lots of Dojo points!

This week we will be learning:

Honors Math: Introduction to measurements of different types of angles.

SAT Math: Introduction to "All about fractions" Unit.

Upcoming events for this week:

Wednesday: Don't forget to wear Orange, and support a Stop to Bullying!

Thursday:  We will be attending HESTEC at Thursday October 10th. Don't forget to wear your Falcon shirt or a black shirt. Report card pick up night will also be this Thursday!
